Preserving water on the planet is crucial to sustain life, ensure food security, preserve ecosystems, meet industrial and energy needs, and promote sustainable use of this vital resource. Dams play an important role in water management, regulating flows, preventing floods, providing strategic reservoirs, and generating renewable energy. By preserving water and using dams sustainably, it is possible to balance human demands with environmental conservation, ensuring an adequate supply of this essential resource for the present and the future.
