Values are beliefs and principles that guide people’s behavior and help define what is right or wrong. Examples of values include respect, honesty, responsibility, solidarity, empathy, justice, and love. They are important because they help create a harmonious and fair society, guiding our choices and actions for the good of all.

To preserve values, we must practice them daily, lead by example, reflect on our attitudes, engage in dialogue with others, and teach them to future generations, ensuring an environment of trust and integrity. An example of preserving values and traditions is seen in traditional games, such as the spinning top, demonstrating that values like respect for traditions can endure over time.

ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

SPINNING TOP

The spinning top, an old-fashioned toy, symbolizes the importance of keeping cultural traditions alive and teaching younger generations the value of respect and perseverance. When spinning the top, patience and dedication are needed, and it often falls but must be picked up to keep spinning. This teaches resilience, a fundamental value for life.

Passing down the spinning top game through generations shows how we can experience and transmit values across time.
