ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

SURFING

It is an individual, extreme sport, practiced in the sea, challenging the athlete to stay on a board for as long as possible, gliding on waves and performing radical maneuvers, with various levels of difficulty.

It is not certain when surfing originated, as there are few records, but some historians argue that it originated in the Polynesian Islands when natives went fishing and, to return to land faster, slid with their boats through the waves.

This is one of the five sports making their debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with the mission of helping rejuvenate the Olympic program.
