In September 2015, world leaders gathered at the UN headquarters in New York and agreed on an action plan to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that people achieve peace and prosperity: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which contains the set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 2030 Agenda and the SDGs state that to put the world on a sustainable path, bold and transformative steps are urgently needed. The SDGs constitute an ambitious to-do list for everyone, everywhere, to be achieved by 2030. If we meet these goals, we will be the first generation to eradicate extreme poverty and will spare future generations from the worst impacts of climate change.

The 2030 Agenda invites everyone to embark on this collective journey.

ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

In this class, we will address goal 2: Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture.
The milling equipment has a direct relationship with sustainable agriculture, food security, and clean energy.

It is essential in agriculture for extracting juices and oils from agricultural products such as sugarcane and oilseeds. By optimizing food production and processing, the mill contributes to food security and promotes sustainable agricultural practices, increasing efficiency and reducing waste.

MILL

It is a machine used to crush or grind materials, such as grains and sugarcane, to extract juices or turn raw materials into usable products. It is common in agriculture and industry, used for example to produce sugar, flour, and ground coffee. Mills range from simple manual equipment to large industrial machines.
