ACTIVITY PROPOSAL
ATHLETE DOING PUSH-UPS
An athlete doing push-ups demonstrates strength, endurance, and discipline. Push-ups are a classic exercise that primarily work the chest, shoulders, triceps, and core muscles. The athlete starts in a plank position, with hands aligned with the shoulders and feet together. They lower their body by bending the elbows until the chest nearly touches the ground, keeping the core tight and the back straight, and then return to the starting position.
Push-ups are fundamental in athlete training because they require no equipment and can be done anywhere, making them effective for increasing muscle strength and improving core stability. Regular push-ups help with performance in various sports, such as track and field and football.
There are several push-up variations that make the exercise more challenging, such as one-arm push-ups, plyometric push-ups, and incline push-ups. Athletes’ discipline in performing push-ups demonstrates the importance of strength training to build a strong and healthy body.
