Modern humans have been neglecting sports practices, which often leads to a sedentary lifestyle and causes disorders such as poor diet, obesity, smoking, stress, heart disease, and more.
In response to this behavior, sports science has been developing studies and showing the importance of regularly practicing well-planned physical activities for people to live healthier lives.
Some of the benefits of physical activity include: increased self-esteem, concentration, and memory; reduced cholesterol levels; delayed aging; improved sleep quality, among others.

CONTEMPLATE
•Do you practice or would you like to practice a sport? Which one?
•Can anyone practice a physical activity or sport on their own?
•Have you ever heard of the sport skydiving? Do you know anyone who practices it?
ACTIVITY PROPOSAL
A skydiver is someone who jumps from an airplane or another high point using a parachute, which is a piece of strong fabric equipment that opens in the air to reduce the speed of the fall. This allows the skydiver to land safely on the ground.
Skydiving requires training, courage, and proper equipment to ensure safety.
BUILD
As a team, build a prototype representing a skydiver. Use the pieces available in the structural robotics technology kit. Carefully follow each step of the assembly and testing process. All team members must actively participate and contribute with ideas and solutions.
CONTINUE
After building the prototype, share the experience with your classmates and answer the following questions.
- How would you describe the balance of this build? Does it look stable?
- Which piece do you think is the most important for keeping the parachute open?
- Which piece or pieces connect the figure to the parachute?
Then, store all the materials used.
